What Does History means... !!!

What does history mean to 'YOU' .. Recently i was thinking about the term 'History' ... i asked a few people... some websites..... 

My friend's grandma said about 5 generations before her ... and she was discussing their greatness and plunders. She was predicting that a cycle of 7 generations will have all status and categories of people in a single family. To be more specific, the same family will be honored / respected and treated like kings once in the 7 generations. In another one they will be almost cared to nothing. She was not clear of the number of kids at each level of family tree, but she knew about 3 generations before her and 2 generations after her which ranged for about 300 years or even more. We could even say she was a walking historical reference for the period from around 1700 till now . I believe her hypothesis which is ' there will be a top class generation will then degrade gradually and become insignificant and then grow from there to the most powerfully known and this happens in 7 generations' .. She said before that was history for her .. :) ... 

I was reading a blog about Chinese history ... One of the historian was asked about the English invasions and colonies.. he said it was too early to discuss about the consequences of their invasion... !!! He was backing with some events which were related to events relevant to the first trade route, which was used during 206 BC – 220 BC (Silk route .. i am not sure about the years .. may be built during this 14 yrs). I couldn't even guess what his meaning for the term History meant for him ... :P 

And during Bush administration america was having many treaties with other countries. America - Japan relations were strong now during the Iraq reconstruction, Japanese troops were working side by side with the American troops, who apparently nuked 2 of their most prosperous cities just 65 years back in WW2 ...  :-O 

Sooo... Is 'History' relative... i guess so...

Hi Friends... New year wishes.... Today morning my roomies were discussing about last months bills, debts ... they were all worried and shocked by seeing the power bill... all others except me in my room are employed... even then they were looking for more income... this might give u an understanding what level of debt they are in now.. 

Wasting hard earned Money

Here are some ideas to reduce the monthly bills... i dont know how to generate money but all of us can contribute on savings ... 

Power bills and Water bills are huge... 

• I dont tell that u take shower in cold water... i suggest u to take 10 min shover compared to 30 min shower... this ll save 20% of the total power bill ... cos heating water is the main part of total energy consumption... 
• Remove plugs from sockets.. even we dont switch on mobiles / laptops.. they pull power.. switch off unwanted lights .. during days.. use natural lighting where ever possible 
• Washing dishes ... with cold water will not cause any harm... ( when using dish washer ... use cold option )
• 1-degree thermostat reduction can save 3 percent on our heating bills... 
• Use low power consuming equipments.. now a days its easy finding those... look for 'ENERGY RATING'... 
• There are power monitors which can help in many ways to conserve power... 

There are millions of ways to reduce power bills... I dont like to waste your time in reading more... Guys.. i know you are all educated.. hi-profile holders... understand all what i said and will know for sure before i even came to know about these methods to save power.. but i know only a few people putting all these to action... i feel its high time to put these methods to work...

I was hunting with my N70 for almost 2 hours to capture this...I used Night mode (low shutter speed) without flash. 

I have tried to control the focal point of image, but no big success.

After a rainy night

This is our university's research building, i was trying to focus on the droplets and later i came to know that N70 do-sent have the focus adjustment. It has a built in focus for each of the settings. But i liked the pic it took.

One more failure attempt to alter focus using iPhone 4.

I am a photographer... :P .... 

Some times i feel like being an awesome photographer and feel proud of seeing my mokkai photos. I thought of sharing how i felt about them. I didnt feel like putting these on FB / Orkut and these dont qualify for Flickr so i am blogging....

"Any camera can take an award winning picture, its not in the camera its in the eye of the photographer" said an NGC (National Geographic Channel) recognized photographer and scientist. So, I have tried not to use a professional camera, because i dont have an intention to buy one..  I have a N70 and an iPhone which i am planning for all my photographic ventures.

Friend... longing for one

"You Have Friends Everywhere" a good friend of me told about me.... this is a strong statement... am i really having friends... or just an illusion ... i wish its true... 

Everyone in this materialistic world think that a friend is the one who gives his helping hand in times of need, i dont actually accept it. I feel that a friend is a liability in terms of business... for having friends u have to spend care, affection and love...  i am not so good to not expect anything from my friends... i started the same way making friends just for benefits... I was banged agaist a big stone wall and i came to know that no one will come fwd to help ... we have to help ourselves... ( its bitter .... but true) ... friends are there to encourage u , cheer u.. not help u...

A friend never helps you ... by working for you ... he helps you by cheering you and guiding you through your hardships... i whish i have a real friend who cheers me up..... 

these days I am missing motivation and cheers... is there any one ... to cheer me up...

Every $ Counts so we put our $ to good use how about you?.. not only to use make it sustainable so that it supports itself...

Before everything i ll clear one thing ... Going green is not painting things in Green.. it is 'Adapting our lifestyle so as to do no / less damage to the environment'

MMM... we shall talk abt the 1st one in the list... CARBON FOOTPRINT... ' this is a measure of the impact on the environment in terms of the amount of greenhouse gases produced, measured in units of carbon ...' A simple idea to reduce the impact created by you... USE CYCLE, of-course for short distance commuting... this keeps our self and earth fit... Use natural lighting when ever possible...

And one more thing...we cant see instant results.. Wait for some time to reap the harvest...

Ok... Here ... Enjoy a Recipe for a Awesome ' Mocha Kick '

No need to decide between coffee and espresso, this drink has both. You'll get more than enough caffeine. It's what you need to start your day.

Ingredients:

• 1 cup coffee, hot
• 2 shots espresso
• 1 tbs cocoa powder

Preparation:

Add the shots to your coffee, then the cocoa powder. Put it in microwave for a Min or 90 sec..
Caution : Semma Strong...

Stir and enjoy... mmmmm ...

Resolutions... 2010 !

What 2010 says...

Makkals are discussing something regarding this turn of clock to 2010 from 2009... 1st decade of 2000s is done...

i was a part of one of such conversations .. we were discussing abt resolutions... one of them said he would become an icon of his organization in 2 yrs but dosent hav any kind of resolution ... and he also said that he didnt have any trust on taking resolution and trying it for only one year... he says do it if u need it.. and dont wait for the new yr's 1st day to start from ground zero...

And if u guys ask me.. i have never taken any resolution but every year i ask myself to think of some resolution .. but never thought of a good one...

We came across an interesting assessment.. 'Find most common resolution' ... the top one was to 'QUIT SMOKE'...
